The Pier Restaurant continues to achieve excellent National Recognition with the Executive Chef winning a National Award with Mushroom Mania in 2003 and State Award in 2004, 2005 and National Award in 2006. Pictured left is Carolyn accepting her 2004 award from Meat and Livestock Association and Mushroom Mania's representative, Faye Tabet. Carolyn has also been awarded the prestigous Target/Family Circle/L'Oreal State Award for Women who Dare in the Workplace 2004. 2003 National Award for best Lamb dish using mushrooms – Lamb Roulade 2004 Winners of the Fraser Coast & South Burnett Suncorp Metway Awards for Excellence - Best Restaurant 2004 Winners of the Fraser Coast & South Burnett Suncorp Metway Awards for Excellence - Best Economy Accommodation "Women Who Dare in the Workplace" Awards sponsored by Target L'Oreal - State Winner - Carolyn Brummell, Executive Chef, Pier Restaurant & Cocktail Bar 2004 State Award for best Pasta dish using mushrooms- Mushroom Gnocchi with chili, Coconut chicken. 2005 State Award for best East meets west using mushrooms – Seafood Dumplings with Thai chili dipping sauce. 2006 National and State for best Salad using mushrooms- Mushroom and Pumpkin salad with coconut passion fruit dressing. 2007 Inducted into Hall of Fame. |
